An independent research library
Hydrogenology is an independent, founder-led research library based in the European Union and built for a global audience.
Its purpose is to make published research on molecular hydrogen easier to find and inspect while keeping human evidence separate from animal, laboratory and other preclinical research. It does not provide medical advice or publish treatment recommendations.
Why Hydrogenology began
Hydrogenology began with a personal search. Around three years ago, questions raised by the health experience of someone close to me led me to the published research on molecular hydrogen. Since then, I have spent substantial time reading the literature. Only more recently did I find a practical way to begin building Hydrogenology—a single, searchable place intended to bring together as much of the published research as possible, so that others can more easily examine what was studied, how the research was conducted, what the authors reported, and what limitations remain.
How the material is created
AI tools are used extensively to assist with literature discovery, deduplication, organization, extraction, comparison, translation, drafting and consistency checks. The founder directs the project, decides what is published and corrects identified errors. AI output is not treated as a medical conclusion.
What “full-text checked” means: the complete available source text was used while preparing the public record. It does not mean that the study, the extraction or the wording has been independently validated by a physician, statistician or second reviewer. Unless a qualified external reviewer is explicitly named, the content has not received independent clinical or statistical review.
First-hand interest in hydrogen devices
As part of this continuing investigation, I purchased two different hydrogen-inhalation devices with my own funds: one more affordable model and a second, high-end model currently listed for sale at more than US$20,000. I selected devices from very different price ranges so that I could examine and compare the practical differences between them. These observations are exploratory, not independent laboratory testing. Neither price, ownership nor personal experience with a device is treated as evidence of its safety, quality, technical performance or therapeutic effectiveness. Any future free sample, payment, manufacturer relationship or other relevant conflict will be disclosed.
Funding, donations and conflicts of interest
To date, I have funded the creation of Hydrogenology entirely from my personal funds and devoted a substantial amount of my own time to building it.
Hydrogenology does not display advertising, use affiliate links, sell hydrogen products or accept payment for favorable coverage. Voluntary contributions made through the support page may help cover source access, hosting and website maintenance. A contribution does not purchase editorial influence, preferential coverage, a ranking position, a recommendation or a favorable conclusion.
A complete historical funding ledger and formal organizational funding statement are not yet published. This limitation is stated openly rather than replaced with an unsupported claim of complete financial independence. Funds specifically collected for future device testing will be separated from general support and governed by the rules published on the device-testing page.
Who is responsible for Hydrogenology
Hydrogenology is currently created and maintained by Lucian Baloi, its founder and curator of the research library. He is based in the European Union and is not a physician or healthcare provider. His role is to develop and maintain the library, organize source-linked research and make study methods, reported findings and limitations easier to inspect—not to provide medical advice or determine whether molecular hydrogen is an effective treatment.
No independent medical, statistical or scientific advisory board is currently presented as part of Hydrogenology. Qualified external reviewers will be identified by name, role, relevant qualifications, review date and declared conflicts whenever such review occurs.
