Which device should Hydrogenology test?
Verified reader requests determine the public ranking. A ranking position records reader interest; it is not an endorsement, recommendation or test result.
Current phase: collecting verified reader requests and confirming laboratory feasibility. No device-testing fundraising campaign is currently open.

The ranking is calculated automatically from distinct, email-confirmed and moderated requests. One verified email counts once for each exact model. Hydrogenology cannot manually assign or reorder ranking positions.

How this works
- You submit one exact manufacturer and model.
- We send an email confirmation link and a private copy of your request.
- After confirmation, the request remains hidden while it is moderated.
- If approved, it becomes one verified request for that exact model and is included automatically in the public ranking.
The ranking records verified reader interest. It is not a quality score, recommendation or test result.
Your email address is required for one-person-one-model verification and is never displayed publicly.

Eligibility, laboratory feasibility and independent acquisition
Eligibility and laboratory feasibility
- The exact retail model must be publicly available and purchasable through an ordinary transaction.
- The device must be identifiable, transportable and accepted by a suitable independent European laboratory.
- High-priced or limited-availability devices are not automatically excluded; feasibility is confirmed before any campaign.
- Testing proceeds only after the full disclosed budget is available.
Independent retail acquisition
The unit will be bought at retail by an independent person or company so the manufacturer is not told in advance that it is intended for testing. Hydrogenology will not use a false identity, make false statements or request a special sample. The invoice, exact model, laboratory scope, results, costs and relevant limitations will be documented publicly.

This status concerns money specifically reserved for device testing. It is separate from voluntary contributions supporting the research library, hosting and general site maintenance.

Financial rules, influence safeguards and cancellation policy
Before a testing campaign opens
Hydrogenology will publish the selected exact model, laboratory quotation or documented estimate, retail device price, testing scope, travel and filming allowance where permitted, total target, and feasibility limitations. The present planning estimate is €8,000 plus the actual retail device price; it is not yet a fundraising target.
No hidden influence
Money cannot buy a ranking position, device selection, favorable wording, suppressed findings, advertising or endorsement. The reader ranking remains based on verified requests. Safety, laboratory acceptance and feasibility may determine whether a ranked device can actually be tested.
Existing general contributions
Contributions made through the current support page help the research library, source access, hosting and maintenance. They are not automatically counted as device-testing funds. A dedicated testing campaign will not open until its financial rules and full target are published.
If testing cannot proceed
Before accepting restricted testing contributions, Hydrogenology will publish a specific cancellation, refund and residual-balance policy. No restricted testing contribution will be requested until that policy is available, so donors are not asked to rely on an undisclosed decision.
